The World Organisation of Scuba Diving (WOSD) is a professional, international dive organisation. The WOSD is the first dive organisation in the world to develop completely new diver training program based on the guidelines defined by the European Standards Committee (CEN). This means that the WOSD courses are adhere to the highest possible international standards for safety, knowledge and skill development and are recognized by more than twenty European countries.

These guidelines are documented in six standards:

EN 14153-1 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 1: Level 1 – "Supervised Diver".

EN 14153-2 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 2: Level 2 – "Autonomous Diver".

EN 14153-3 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 3: Level 3 – "Dive Leader".

EN 14413-1 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of scuba instructors – Part 1: Level 1.

EN 14413-2 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of scuba instructors – Part 2: Level 2.

EN 14467 Recreational diving services – Requirements for recreational scuba diving service providers.

In addition to developing the course material from scratch, the WOSD has also developed a totally new training system. Heavy, out-dated and dull books have been replaced by an up-to-date multi media system, both for the trainee and the WOSD instructor. The WOSD training system is based on a high level of independence and flexibility for both the trainee and the WOSD instructor.

The training material has been developed in such a way that the course is no longer based on time, but on performance. The WOSD instructors have been trained to adapt the courses that they teach, so that the trainee has every chance to successfully complete a WOSD course.

The WOSD will be launched officially at the ‘Duikvaker 2006’, Utrecht, The Netherlands. Instructors and members will be available to inform all visitors about the personal approach, the training methods and how and where our courses are offered. At the show, we will also be offering some very special deals. Interested? Come at meet us at our stand.
