About WOSD PDF Print E-mail

The World Organisation of Scuba Diving (WOSD) was setup in order to realise a new innovative method for conducting diver training. Traditional (diver) training courses often require a trainee to learn from a book in a classroom, with an instructor who simply repeats what they have already read in the book several times at home. These systems do not utilise modern multi-media materials or allow self-study.

All WOSD courses are based on the so-called “Digital Learning System” or “D-learning”. When a trainee decides to follow a D-Learning course, they receive a multi-media package, which they then use in their own time to reach the learning goal. The trainee studies in the comfort of their own home at the times that they choose.

D-Learning

D-learning provides the trainee with the ultimate level of flexibility in their study, learning completely in his or her own time and manner. Progress can be checked at any time through a series of self-tests via Internet. Any questions can be sent by email to the trainees Dive Centre or Instructor. Once the required level of knowledge has been attained, the trainee can complete a final exam at the Dive Centre or with a Dive Instructor and then go diving. In this way, the trainee can experience the incredible feeling of breathing underwater in a very different world, far sooner and easier than was previously possible.

The WOSD 'D-learning' system removes the barriers that have previously prevented many people from learning to dive and enjoying the wonders that mother nature has created underwater.
