CEN-EN Standards Print E-mail

The IAHD has developed its courses according to the guidelines set out by the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN). As a result the IAHD courses adhere to the highest possible international standards for safety, knowledge and skill development and are recognised by more than twenty European Countries. These guidelines are documented in six standards:

EN 14153-1 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 1: Level 1 – “Supervised Diver”.

EN 14153-2 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 2: Level 2 – “Autonomous Diver”.

EN 14153-3 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers – Part 3: Level 3 – “Dive Leader”.

EN 14413-1 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of scuba instructors – Part 1: Level 1.

EN 14413-2 Recreational diving services – Safety related minimum requirements for the training of scuba instructors – Part 2: Level 2.

EN 14467 Recreational diving services – Requirements for recreational scuba diving service providers.

By developing the courses completely from scratch, we have been able to ensure that there are no missing items and no overlaps in the material, as is the case when existing course programs are adapted to meet the CEN-EN standards. Our approach guarantees that all information is presented in the correct way, at the correct time and in the correct order.
